A number of years ago, the house we lived in faced a small park. The landscaping in the park shielded us from a nearby flood control channel that bisected our little gated community. But the landscaping only enhanced the symphony of night sounds I heard whenever I cracked the door open that led to a balcony overlooking the park. I would listen as frogs croaked, crickets chirped, birds swooped – and probably an occasional bat – and ground squirrels chattered as they hunkered down for the night. The occasional owl hooted as it searched for prey. In the distance, the faint sound of barking dogs added to the concerto. I had a front row seat as the opus of creation praised the One who is the Creator of all things. Sometime, if you have the opportunity, crack a window or door in the evening and listen to the magnificent wonder of the masterpiece.
“Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.” – Psalm 150:6 NIV
